What's new in the Joomla Crusco Author Bio Box extension

What's new

The HTML Crusco team is always looking for new ideas and ways to improve Crusco Author Bio Box. Here are some of the new features and improvements we have made to the extension, thanks in part to feedback from our customers.

 

v1.6.0

Added

  • A toggle has been added to choose whether or not to display the bio. This option may be useful if you want to display a condensed author box at the top of the article and an expanded one, which includes the bio, at the end.

  • Management of verification badges (or checkmarks). In the user plugin, it is now possible to define one or more verification badges based on the user’s access level (ACL) (e.g. free users, premium users, etc.). This feature is a great bonus for anyone running a guest posting blog, multi-author portals or professional directories in the B2B sector..

  • Option for author box padding. It is now possible to set the padding for the author box directly in the content plugin and module options without having to override the CSS.

  • New social media link: SoundCloud.

Changed

  • The author’s website can now be opened in the same window. This option is useful if you wish to link to a page within the site (e.g. an author profile article) rather than an external page.

  • This version consolidates the update servers for Personal, Professional and Agency subscriptions.

  • Added a dedicated plugin to integrate Author Bio data in the knowledge graph gerated by the Google Structured Data extension by Tassos.

To use this feature, the Joomla 5 (or higher) System - Schema.org core plugin must be enabled, and the author bio must be displayed via Content - Crusco Author Bio Box.

  • New AI Crawler section: Enables Micro-Context for LLM (used in Agentic Web Design) to help scraping language models (LLMs) identify the author bio as an E-E-A-T source (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).

  • Added rel="me" attribute value for the author's website and social media links.
